Who we Are:

Links to Life was established in 2014 and provides supportive residential services in and around Central Virginia to individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Our person- centered services are provided to each individual in their chosen sponsored home and in community-based settings based on induvial wants and needs. Supports offer individuals the opportunity to live, work and develop relationships as valued members of their community.

We work with each individual to develop a person-centered plan of support focused on acquiring and improving skills to live as independently as they choose, develop their capacity for thoughtful decision making and for self- advocacy. Our mission is for each participant to live a life filled with dignity, respect, and happiness.

Each employee and sponsor of Links to Life receive all required and recommended training in the best practices for teaching and providing supportive, person-centered physical and mental health services to each individual we support. Our Administrative Staff and Support Facilitators are Qualified Mental Health or Qualified Developmental Disability Professionals. Our training includes training classes for exceptional support needs for health care and behavioral issues and with exceptional support needs associated with a diagnosis of Autism. We offer basic training and yearly refresher training in the areas of Crisis stabilization, medication administration, human rights and Home and Community Based Rights and services.

Our homes are licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Services. We provide oversight to ensure compliance with Home and Community Based Services and licensure requirements to promote health and safety for the individuals living in the homes. We have homes located in a variety of settings including rural, suburban and in the city. Each home has certified and trained back up staff who provide additional supports. The homeowners and managers of the services are experienced and have chosen to share their homes with individuals with disabilities and walk with them each day, providing supports to fulfil their life dreams of meaningful relationships and active engagement in their community. Supports and daily schedules are based on individual needs and preferences based on Home and Community Based (HCBS) recommendations.
