Links to Life is seeking full-time and part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for homes in Lynchburg, VA, and the surrounding areas. This position involves working with 1-4 individuals at each location, and the schedule will include day, evening, and weekend hours.
DUTIES OF POSITION:
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will support individuals with activities of daily living, domestic tasks, personal care needs, health and safety, behavioral supports, routine supports, skill-building activities, and community participation, as well as developing and maintaining contact with friends and family. Additionally, the DSP will help individuals enrich their lives by exploring volunteer opportunities, offering transportation services, and assisting with medication administration. Successful candidates must be detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate notes to ensure the continuity of quality care.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (ID/DD) or within a healthcare setting is required for this position. Hiring is dependent upon satisfactory references, possession of an active driver’s license with a good driving record, and a favorable outcome of a criminal background check.
